Lead enrichment
Lead enrichment is the gap between 'we have an email address' and 'we know enough to send a useful message'. It is a per-lead lookup against multiple data sources — company size, industry, recent news, tech stack, decision-maker title, intent signals — assembled into a single profile the sales team can act on without a Google rabbit hole per contact.
The manual reality
Off-the-shelf enrichment tools (Apollo, Clearbit, ZoomInfo) provide raw data but rarely a coherent profile. The salesperson still has to read three tabs, cross-check, and write an outreach message that synthesises everything. Time-per-lead stays at 8-15 minutes, which doesn't scale beyond a few thousand leads per month per rep.
The WorkAist approach
The WorkAist lead enrichment agent takes an email address or a name+company input and runs a multi-source lookup: company data (Apollo, Hunter.io, Clearbit), recent news (NewsAPI, RSS feeds), tech stack (BuiltWith, Wappalyzer), social signals (LinkedIn via API or public scraping). The agent then synthesises a one-paragraph summary: who they are, what they're solving for right now, what would be relevant from us. The salesperson goes from raw email to context-rich brief in seconds.
Implementation in 5 steps
- 1Connect your enrichment data sources (Apollo, Hunter.io, Clearbit — pick one or combine).
- 2Optionally add news, social, and tech-stack sources (NewsAPI, LinkedIn, BuiltWith).
- 3Define the output shape: structured fields (size / industry / role) plus a free-text 'what to know about this lead' paragraph.
- 4Connect your CRM so enriched leads land in the right place (HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive).
- 5Run enrichment automatically when new leads enter (form submission, list import, CRM trigger) — review the first batch for accuracy.

FAQ
How is this different from just using Apollo or Clearbit directly?▼
Apollo and Clearbit give you fields; the agent gives you a profile. The agent runs the lookups, cross-references conflicting data, summarises into a usable brief, and decides which data points are worth surfacing for the specific outreach context. You're not paying a salesperson to assemble a profile from raw tools.
Is this GDPR-compliant for EU leads?▼
Enrichment from public sources (LinkedIn public profiles, news, company websites) is permissible under GDPR's legitimate-interest basis for B2B outreach, with the right transparency and opt-out. WorkAist is self-hosted — the enrichment data flows through your infrastructure, not a third-party SaaS, which simplifies the GDPR-controller picture significantly.
Can the agent also write the outreach message?▼
Yes — pair the enrichment agent with the sales-automation agent and you have enrichment + draft outreach in one pipeline. The agent uses the enriched profile to personalise the message at the relevance points (their recent news, their tech stack, their role's typical pains).
